BODHI MENTE
It took months. Spanish, English, biblical names, Greek mythology, endless words that all sounded like someone else's vision. Then they found Bodhi. Sanskrit, for the awakening of the mind. It resonated instantly.
Paired with Mente — mind, in Spanish — it became something else: awakening of the body and mind, folded into two words. Even the logo carries it forward. Look closely and the B and the M trade places, curl into each other, and alone, each one holds the quiet shape of a person in meditation.
THE BEGINNING
It started the way most real things do: unplanned, on a first date, a discussion of future aspirations that never quite let go. Two people, burnt out on city life and the version of success that came with it, talking about walking away and building something of their own instead.
The conversation never really ended. It just got quieter, then louder, then impossible to ignore, until there was nothing left to do but follow it.
WHY COLOMBIA
They looked for a long time without knowing exactly what they were looking for. Then the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta found them — one of the only places on earth where snow-capped peaks and Caribbean coastline exist in the same breath. Jungle falling straight down to the sea. Mountains rising straight up from it.
For one of them, this land was already home. So coming here wasn't really a choice. It was closer to a return.
THE VILLAS
What should a room do to a person's mind?
The result is pulled from two places. From the architecture of Santa Marta, the painted stucco, the colour laid straight onto old walls, personality that’s worn on the outside. And from something smaller: the mycelium and mushrooms native to this land, whose blues, oranges, and greens now run through the lighting, furniture, and textures that run throughout the space.
None of it happened alone. A dedicated design team took the earliest, roughest version of this idea and pushed it somewhere neither founder could have reached on their own.
An atmosphere, built deliberately to provoke an expansion of reality.
GROWTH
Two villas is just the beginning. The colour, the light, the vision is the very thing that will eventually shape everything Bodhi Mente becomes, including social spaces and experiences built around deeper states of mind still to come.
